Let me introduce myself, I’m Elle. I started The Classical Farmer, with the help of my husband Vince, to chronicle our journey as we start and grow our farm, Bona Terra. Our little farm currently consists of myself, my husband, son, baby girl on her way, two dogs, two cats, a ferret, two goats, and about fifty chickens, but at the rate I acquire animals this is likely to change quickly. We are located about twenty minutes outside of Oxford, Mississippi.
So where did the name The Classical Farmer come from? Well, my husband and I met in a Latin class and graduated with degrees in Classics. It was our love of Latin, Greek, Classics, and Farms that brought us together.
Just in case you are wondering Bona Terra is Latin for “good earth.” You can now say you know some Latin… and you’re welcome!
